Hundreds of college students of the University of Benin, Edo State (UNIBEN), have trooped out en masse on Wednesday to protest the continued strike movement of the Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU).
It could be referred to that on Tuesday, that scholars similarly protested across the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, calling for the instant reopening of public universities throughout Nigeria.
The strike movement of the teachers that are getting into its fourth month has left public universities closebecause of its inception following the lecture’s demands, which the Federal Government had, allegedly, now no longer met.
ASUU had accused the authorities of terrible dedication to the price of earned educational allowance; the ongoing use of the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System and the refusal to undertake the Universities Transparency and Accountability Solution, amongst others.
